I love visitors

Our friends Kelley and Neil flew out from Utah to visit us over the weekend, and we had a blast! Of course, what do you do when you come to western New York?

Niagara Falls, of course!

Looking snazzy in our Maid of the Mist ponchos

Taughannocks Falls - 215 feet tall

Buttermilk Falls, down in Ithaca

Of course, you have to go to Palmyra and see the church historical sites. First, we did a session in the temple.

Looking down the Hill Cumorah, with the stage set for the pageant.

It had just started raining by the time we were touring the Joseph Smith Farm. We thought we'd walk quickly through the Sacred Grove and be ok. Boy were we wrong! The paths in the Sacred Grove had turned into rivers (I kid you not) and the water was over my ankles! I wish I had gotten a picture of it, but I didn't want to ruin my camera. However, in this video you can see how hard it was raining! We had umbrellas, but they were just no match for the storm.

And the aftermath of the storm... we were soaked. I could have gone swimming in my clothes and been just as wet. If you look closely in the picture, you can see I'm wringing out my skirt.

Yes, it was quite the adventure. The sun came out in the afternoon, and it dried us off a bit, so we stayed to see a few more sites (and all the good pictures are on Kelley's camera). It was a fabulous time and so good to see Kelley and Neil! Thanks for coming to visit guys :)

Oh what a fun visit! It isn't New York with out some sort of downpour while you're there. And how was Pageant? The same as usual? Protestors, tons of people, and Jesus coming? Can't wait to talk to you!

You have so many friends! How great for you! I am so glad you blog because then I can actually see all these places without going there (yet).

Sounds like a lot of fun. I'm sad that we never got to come and visit you while we were there. It just never worked out with school and the baby and everything. Bummer.

How I would love to come visit Sarah! Maybe when James starts applying for Optometry Schools we'll be able to come and see you. I'm glad all seems to be going well!

We were talking the other day about coming to NY for a visit. Is the church sites close to Niagra Falls? Or is it like a full day trip?

Only there until November? Do you have plans or a job somewhere else yet? Our plans to come back are only talk right now. It would be with some of Scott's family and they are like turtles getting them to commit on time. So probably not this year..sorry I know we are poor planners. Should have thought of something like this a couple of years ago. Thanks for the info.

Where are the graduation pictures? I am waiting for some. Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well; but it's for a great cause. Jennifer is right on the couch 24/7 the first 3 months of her pregnancys. So we can relate to how you're doing. Good luck.
